Wednesday, January 15

Today, students continued their winter break stories.  Several students finished.  We'll continue this work tomorrow and I'm hoping to be done by Friday.  We had two art lessons today.  We've been reading about snowmen and in the first lesson we created our snowperson and in the lesson after lunch we painted our snowperson in the snow.  We joined M. Trevor for a gymnastics lesson and continued rotating though our science magnetism centres.

A note about winter clothing.  My motto, especially in this weather is "If your mom/dad sent you with it, you wear it."  I had several students today not put on their snow pants to go VCC/daycare/pickup/home.  I have also explained because I get the "My mom says it's ok for me not to wear my snow pants", that should you wish for your child not to wear their winter clothes, that you should send me an e-mail.  I have explained to students that if I do not see their mitts and hats on, they are welcome to wear one of my extras that I keep in our room. I'm happy to discuss this further if you'd like.  Just let me know.  Keeping your child safe and these days, warm, is a priority for me.

Students were given Scholastic books orders yesterday.  If you would like to order please do so by Friday.  I'm sorry but I will no longer be able to accept cash. (I have to put it on my credit card and then make a payment to Scholastic online).
