A chilly start to a very chilly week. Just a reminder in the morning, students can come right in the school all week. Our regular Grade 2 doors are unlocked as well as the Grade 1 doors. I don't anticipate having any outside time this week with these cold temperatures.
This morning we worked for a short time on our winter break stories and joined Mme. Zdrill for our music lesson. After an indoor recess, we learned about North and South poles of magnets, did some hands-on work to help us understand polarity a bit better and wrote about these concepts in our science books (opposite poles attract, while same poles repel). We played our Math Monday game. It's the same Headbands games as last week, but it's subtraction. This proved to be quite a bit more challenging to students so we'll play a couple more times throughout this week. We have not yet practiced our subtraction skills. We also listened to our Star of the Week's presentation. In the afternoon, we worked on our Star of the Week picture and used the Words of the Week in our journals.
